| The Women's Missionary Union (WMU) meets the second Thursday monthly at 11:00 AM in fellowship hall. Opportunities for involvement in the WMU fall into two categories: age-level organizations and church wide missions awareness/participation. These opportunities are related to mission focus, Bible Study, prayer, world issues, spiritual development, etc. The primary tasks of the WMU are to lead the church and WMU members to: Pray for and give to missions Do Missions Learn about missions Develop spirituality toward a mission lifestyle Participate in the work of our church and the denomination The annual weeks of prayer, and the Home and Foreign Mission Studies, focus on cooperative giving for individuals and families. The Cooperative Program, Lottie Moon Christmas offering for international missions, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions, and state and associational missions are the primary channels of giving emphasized by WMU. WMU continues to respond to the church's mandate of the Great Commission through the use of time, talents, prayer, and financial resources to advance the Gospel both at home and throughout the world. The Deacons assist the pastor in the Ministry to the congregation and are available at all times to minister to those in need, much like the pastor in that regard. The Men's Ministry meets the first Sunday of each quarter at 8:00 AM usually over breakfast. We support those in membership with aid when necessary and outside our church field whenever possible. We also support the "Suit Ministry" for pastors in the Western United States. We have a good time in the Lord! Come and join us. Return to home page |
